Paraeducator injured in crash, settles after trial for a predetermined verdict range. MyRecentCases

… A 43-year-old paraeducator was driving her van on her way to the school where she helped with children with disabilities.  As she was waiting in a long line of stopped traffic, a driver behind her failed to see her until it was too late.  He slammed on his brakes, but the front of his car smashed into the rear of the van, pushing it forward into the car in front.  The paraeducator developed significant neck and back injuries, requiring physical therapy and periodic pain injections.  After a Board of Arbitrators awarded the paraeducator a significant sum, the other driver’s insurance company appealed.  A court-ordered one-day mini jury trial was held.  After the jury returned with its verdict, the parties resolved the case with a previously negotiated settlement agreement for a minimum and maximum amount. – MyRecentCases
